SHED REQUIREMENTS

A Zoning Permit is required for any size shed, as is a prior approval needed before applying for a Building Permit.

A Building Permit is required for any shed 100-Square Feet or larger.

A shed between 100-Square ft. and 199-Square ft. may be placed on a 6-inch deep bed of gravel or cement slab.

A shed 200-Square ft. or larger must have footings and the shed must be anchored to the footings.  Footings must be from bottom of footing to grade, 42 inches or 3 foot 6 inches.

Two (2) copies of drawings must be submitted when applying for a Building Permit.

For a prefab shed under 200-Square ft. the company brochure is sufficient.

Copy of the manufacturer brochure

Volume of structure (length x height x width = cu. Ft.)

Footing Detail including depth, size and location

Wall Detail including size & span of beams, outside finish

Roof Detail including size and span of rafters, sheathing and finished roof

Window & Door Detail including location and header size.
