Sussex
County Meals On Wheels Needs Your Help |
|
Each day a frail homebound senior listens for the familiar
knock on their door from the Meals on Wheels volunteer
and breaths a sigh of relief knowing they will enjoy the
benefits of a hot healthy meal delivered with a smile
from a volunteer who cares about them.
|
| Sussex County Meals On Wheels
has addressed the issue of hunger for sussex county homebound
seniors for thirty years. We want to continue to meet this
need in the future . But, just as you are faced with the demands
of increase in the prices of gasoline and the cost of a trip
to a local supermarket, our agency must struggle each year
to meet these budgetary deficits on a much grander scale.
Meals on Wheels has at least four vehicles out delivering
each day and our food cost s have risen 25% in just two years. |
| |
Through our combined effort we will
look towards our goal, " so that no senior goes hungry"
|
| The ways we can accomplish
this are: |
| |
Asking companies employees and associates to make donations
to Sussex County Meals On Wheels. $15.00
will match the donation for a weeks delivery of hot nutritious
meals for a homebound senior, however any amount is welcome |
| |
Asking your neighbors, friends and family to volunteer their
time to help deliver a midday meal by calling the volunteer
recruiter at 973-383-3123 |
| |
|
| Please join us in ending the isolation
and hunger that the growing population of homebound elderly
must face each day in your hometown by sending your donation
